Spring…already…baseball, woohoo!
Hank, Tom & Willie Walk Into a Bar… is my newest EP that will be released this week via Bandcamp and later on I-Tunes, Spotify, Amazon and the like. It features 3 songs from the country artists in the title. (Williams, T. Hall, Nelson) My good friend Kevin Kimbrell once again conceived and drew the artwork for this one. I’m excited for you all to hear it and see what you think. It will initially be a pay what you want release via Bandcamp with standard pricing on I-Tunes etc. and of course, free streaming on Spotify. Thanks to Carl Burnitz at High Fidelity Recordings for helping me out with this one.
I’m continuing work on the project I entitled The Border for Interruptions of the Mind, although I’m thinking of a title switch as I’m not sure that title works after all. We’ll see.
I recorded a few songs written by local songwriters a while back and released two via Facebook links to Soundcloud. It was a lot of fun so I tinkered around with a couple of others and recently added some legit vocals to a few of them and replaced the whispering office or bedroom vocals that I had before. So far I’ve pretty much finished songs by Josh Roberts, Tom Hall, Chris Compton and Zach Seibert. In the works are tunes by Donald Merckle, Milton Hall and others. Not sure when/if/how this project will see the light of day, but it’s been a blast to work on.
Cully and I will be playing a short set at Kinetic Derby Day on April 21, 2018. It’s sponsored by the City of West Columbia and will be held at 9th & Meeting St. More information here: https://www.kineticderbyday.com
Finally, thanks to Andrew Brooks for playing drums for the past year or so of shows for Todd Mathis & His Only Friends Left. Andrew’s off to Richmond for a great work opportunity, and while I selfishly wish he were staying in the Carolinas, I wish him the best.
